Gut Microbiome May Modify Neurodegeneration

A recent report from the Society for Neuroscience 2017 annual meeting, which hints that bacteria in the gut may influence the symptoms and pathology of Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. Our lab’s members, Drs. Ishita Parikh and Ai-Ling Lin were mentioned in the article, illustrating that APOE gene may be a modifier of gut microbiome diversity and composition.
